Sheet Metal Welding-Course Description

To provide an opportunity for the student to learn about Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW) on Sheet Steel. The course covers both theory and practical application of GMAW using both Classroom Lecture and Lab practice. Topics include: Safety, equipment set-up, parts of the welding gun, joint types, and effects of welding variables. Shop practice will include a variety of weld joints in Flat, Horizontal, and Vertical Down positions on a variety of Steel sheet metal thicknesses with and without galvanized coatings.
